The Camp has been set up on a hillock with clear shots to all directions at the sw part of the peninsula while all other VU4 stations did operate from the northern part. Most likely the very best operation site one can find at Pt. Blair.

Without beverage and receiving loops no operation on the low bands would have been possible due to extremely high static noise levels of S9+++.

A cyclone hit the islands during the last 3-4 days of our operation, destroying several times our low band antennas on the hillock. Due to the strong cyclone rainfalls an increasing number of power blackouts happened but our site, the "Hotel Megapode Nest Camp", owned no backup generator so that we off the air for about 50 % of the time.

Nevertheless we finished our operations with about 20.000 qso´s
